We are honored to remember many of our dearest furry friends who are no longer with us, and to share their stories with you. If you have had a Cat Corner kitty who has passed away we would be glad to include them as well; you can email us and our web person will contact you about adding your friend to our Rainbow Bridge page.

Selina
Sweet Selina crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 29 June 2009. She was 15 and had lived at The Cat Corner since she was 2 years old. She loved to sit in the sun and watch the volunteers and other cats. Although she had a number of health problems in the last few years, she always seem to know that the volunteers were there to help her. We will all miss her very much since Selina was a part of our Cat Corner family for so many years.
Shadow
Shadow crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, 27 Nov 2009. She was rescued from an owl hole in a tree where she was trying to take care of her tiny kittens. The wind and rain took a toll on her babies and only one, Arbor, survived. Arbor and Shadow moved into The Cat Corner and became part of our family. Arbor was quickly adopted but Shadow was waiting for that special family who could appreciate all she had to offer. She found her family and shared 10 months of mutual love with them. A few weeks ago, Shadow was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer and despite all efforts, she died on Friday, 27 Nov 09. Although she was only with us for a short time, she brought love and many happy times to so many. Shadow is gone but her spirit will live in our hearts forever.
Sheba
Our sweet Sheba crossed the Rainbow Bridge today, 28 April 2008. She came to The Cat Corner as a stray kitten from Poquoson where she was rescued by a friend of The Cat Corner. Sheba never totally adjusted to people but she loved The Cat Corner where she felt safe and loved. One of her favor things was to find that special spot on the porch and relax in the warm sunshine. Sheba will be greatly missed by all of The Cat Corner volunteers but especially by Paula her foster sponsor. Rest well Little Sheba.
Shivers
A large hole has been left at the Cat Corner. Our sweet girl Shivers passed over the Rainbow Bridge Thursday May 7th, 2009. Shivers was a friend to everyone at the Cat Corner. She came to us when she was a kitten and was adopted once, but it didn’t work out and she came back. The Cat Corner was her forever home and she was happy there, sampling everyone’s food and sleeping in their beds. Shivers was always looking for a lap and if you sat down, she would immediately jump up, find a comfortable position and begin to purr. It was in 2007 she developed cancerous tumors in her ears and was given 6 months to live. But Shivers had other ideas and stayed with us another 2 years. Shivers touched many lives and you will be greatly missed.
Stormie
Stormie was a stray that was left at the Cat Corner in late May of 2008. A note was left with her stating that her owner passed away. In the short time Stormie was with us she became a favorite of many. She adapted to her new surroundings quite easily and loved to snuggle with just about anyone. We knew from the start that Stormie wasn’t in the best of health. On Monday September 1, her health took a turn for the worst. Stormie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, surrounded by her people friends late Monday September 1, 2008. Although we only knew her for a short time, we all became very attached to her and will miss her greatly.
